  • Winter Weather: https://www.weather.gov/mfr/

During the winter when a snow day is possible, EPSD9 asks families to be prepared for the following possible actions:

Cancellation:  The school and district are closed.  Essential safety personnel may be asked to work if safe to do so.

Two-hour delayed start – School begins two hours after the regularly scheduled start time with regular bus routes. Bus Routes
PLEASE NOTE:  For those families living in higher elevations our buses will run our pre-identified Snow Routes/Staging Areas.

    How is this decision made?
4:00 AM:  Physically check road conditions (multiple sites around EPSD9)

5:00 am: Phone call with area superintendents and National Weather Service- Medford.

5:15 am: Decision based on physical data and National Weather Service forecast.  If roads in our boundaries are unsafe for driving and the forecast does not call for improvement, we will make the decision to delay or close the school.

    How will families be notified?
In the event school needs to be delayed or canceled, the following action will take place:

5:45 am: Post to all websites, local media, social media, EPSD9 App, and emails to staff and families.

6:00 am: Automated text to staff and families.
