The GED Opportunity provides students, who are eligible to be enrolled in public high school, an independent study program to prepare for taking the GED tests. Preparation, as well as GED testing, is all completed at URCEO at no cost to students.
Before accepting students in the program, the URCEO team holds an Intake Meeting with parents and the student. If there is still an interest, the student completes a practice test on the GED site. This provides them with the experience to make an informed commitment to the program.
Once accepted into the program, students must demonstrate attendance with a weekly check-in. If a two week period with no check-ins occurs, a 10-day drop will be completed.
