URCEO VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL

  • Courses and Credits

Students grades 9-12 will be placed in courses based upon their graduation plan. URCEO Virtual high school students are able to concurrently enroll at Eagle Point High School for select courses that are not offered at URCEO. We will work with the high school and student to accommodate these requests. It is important to note that some courses at the high school do have waitlists and prerequisites. If your students wants to request an elective offered by EPHS, have them complete the steps in this form: https://forms.gle/DD4ZNa9Tc2aDDWjJ9 (Students must be logged into their EPSD9 account to access the form.)

URCEO juniors and seniors are eligible for the Work Experience Program as a means for earning up to 4 elective credits.

    Class Schedule

Our secondary students have a compressed schedule and only take 4 classes per term. Each term, which is traditionally a grading quarter, our students complete a semester's worth of instruction. Class periods are longer to accommodate the instructional time necessary to cover learning standards.

    Block 1 8:45-10:05 a.m.

    Block 2 10:17-11:37 a.m.

    Block 3 12:13-1:33 p.m.

    Block 4 1:35-2:55 p.m.

Each term, students have four classes that split up the core requirements and follow a pattern:

    • Terms 1 & 3 are what you could refer to as the "A class schedule"
    • Terms 2 & 4 would be the "B class schedule"

At the end of traditional semesters (terms 1 & 2 or 3 & 4), students earn the equivalent credits (or more) of the traditional school schedule. This is why we prefer to handle transfer requests at semester breaks.

There is significant flexibility in terms of the time of day a student completes their daily work; however, the assignments have deadlines and there will be required daily check-ins for each block that count for attendance purposes.

Students are strongly encouraged to attend synchronous class meetings. We call synchronous class meetings, SynchMeets. These are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays via Zoom.

    Sports

URCEO does not offer sports, so our students compete with Eagle Point High School teams. There are requirements that must be met for high schoolers in order to comply with the Oregon High School Athletic Association. Please visit https://ephs.eaglepnt.k12.or.us/athletics___activities/eligibility to learn more. If you have further questions, please contact the district athletic director, Kacey McNulty.
