The following students and staff were recognized at a recent assembly for their outstanding work by our School Board.

Words from Shady Cove School:

student with award

Leilana Levario

Leilana has attended SCS for the past 6 years. She started with us in Kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. As one of her former teachers Ms. Nodine said, she is just an all around stellar scholar. Leilanna is responsible, reliable, dependable and one of a kind. She goes beyond what is expected and challenges herself. We appreciate what a great role model you are for the rest of our scholars! Keep up the good work!

Student with award

Destanee Carroll

Destanee has attended SCS since 4th grade and is now currently one of our 8th graders. Being a middle school scholar is not always an easy thing. Middle School Scholars are trying to figure out who they are and often that is challenging. However, as an 8th grader Destanee has stood out. Mrs. Wade shared that Destanee has been really doing well so far this year. She is always on task, rarely needs redirection, she is just quietly awesome and persistently tries to get better at each skill being addressed. Destanee is not just putting her all in the classroom but also a leader on the volleyball court. Destanee we are so proud of you!

Staff with award

Pepa Cortez

Ms. Pepa has been with our school district and specifically Shady Cove School for the past 22 years on and off. She started out supporting preschool up at Elk Trail with Mrs. Triller and then moved to Shady Cove School. She has supported every grade level and even a Pathways program. She is now our attendance secretary and is doing such a great job. She is the first face that people see when they come in and what a great attitude and smile she always has on. She is such an asset to our school and we appreciate you!

Staff with award

Haley Lile

Mrs. Lile has just been with us a short two years but it feels like she has been with us so much longer. I am so appreciative of all she does for our scholars both inside and outside the classroom. She continues to hone her teaching skills and is always looking for ways to improve her instruction, whether it be going to a math training or an AVID training. She is on our PBiS committee and has help to create a structure for our Tier 2 team. Mrs. Lile is always willing to jump in and help wherever she it needed. Thank you for all you do!
