1:1 At-Home Device Management

Depending on where a student is enrolled, parents and guardians have various options to manage and observe the usage of school-issued technology to their students. The matrix below shows what is available depending on the type of device available at a student’s school.

  iPad Chromebook

Securly

Securly, Eagle Point School District’s content filter, is equipped with a Parent Portal. This allows you to monitor everything that your student does with their district-issued device:

  • You can log in any time you want to get information about your student’s online activity right away.

  • You can sign up to get periodic digests of your student’s activity to read at your convenience.

On-Device Management

Pads are equipped with a number of parental controls that can be set up directly on the device. You can make it a part of your family’s Apple device ecosystem, or manage it independently of any other device utilizing Screen Time.

No on-device management available.

Notes for the Securly Parent Portal

When prompted to log in via the app of the web interface, use the email address the district has on file for you. This will likely be the same email address you use to sign into ParentVUE. If your ParentVUE email address doesn’t work when logging into the Securly Parent Portal, log into ParentVUE to see what other email address you may have on file with us. If you need to set up a ParentVUE account, contact your student’s school for assistance.

Notes for using Screen Time on an iPad

Apps, websites, and the amount of time a student is able to use their iPad can be controlled by parents or guardians by setting up Screen Time within the iPad. Keep in mind that only you will be able to remove the Screen Time settings from your student’s iPad. If an iPad is locked or has restrictions set that prevent your student from learning while at school, the Eagle Point School District IT department may reset the iPad completely to restore access during school hours. If done, a parent or guardian would need to set Screen Time up again.
