Board Policy

Please click here to access Eagle Point School District 9 Board Policy.

The Board has the authority and responsibility to establish policy. The Board accepts the definition of policy set forth by the National School Boards Association:

School Board policies are statements which set forth the purposes and prescribe in general terms the organization and program of a school system. They create a framework within which the superintendent and his/her staff can discharge their assigned duties with positive direction. They tell what is wanted.

The formulation and adoption of policies, recorded in writing, will constitute the basic method by which the Board will exercise its leadership in the operation of the school system. The policies shall be consistent with Oregon Revised Statutes, Oregon Administrative Rules and all federal laws and regulations.

Board Goals

The Eagle Point School District 9 Board of Directors adopted goals for 2015-2017:

  • Emphasize student safety as our top priority by identifying and implementing best practices and funding safety tools, equipment, training and facility improvements based on 2013-14 Safety Committee recommendations.
  • Oversee and support a year’s growth in English/language arts and math for 80% or more of students annually as based on universal screenings and 95% attendance by 2017.
  • Create district facilities improvement and re-purposing plan.
  • Implement an effective, sustainable integrated technology system for teaching and learning, human resources, communication, marketing, and branding.
