Long Term Disability

Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance is mandatory and paid for by the employee through monthly post-tax payroll deductions. Premiums are calculated on a % of an employee's salary. It provides income protection in case of an illness or injury that keeps the employee away from work. There is a 90-day waiting period from the event date to receipt of the benefit.
