Connect ED

To our Eagle Point Community:

Tomorrow spring break begins for Eagle Point School District. I want to thank all staff members, students, parents and community memnbers for their hard work and ‘can do’ spirit. In the past five days we’ve made decisions and plans that in normal times would have taken months. Great job and my sincerest thanks to every one of you.

Next week, it’s important for you to take the time to relax and recharge. I encourage you to use the time to connect with your family and to take the opportunity to do the things you love. I fully intend to do some fishing.

Our District plan is to use March 30 and 31st to prepare our teachers for providing education services to all of our students. The ‘all’ is important. Our goal is to reach every scholar. Although, I know many of you are already working and connecting with students, our official start will be April 1st.

Let’s recognize that our practice, in the beginning, may be flawed. Teacher, students and parents are going to learn to work, communicate and teach remotely. At the same time, our kids and their families will be adjusting to stressful personal circumstances. It’s going to be messy. We need to be flexible and most of all professional. Our kids will be looking to us for leadership. We are going to fix our mistakes and get better day-by-day. Our goal will be that Eagle Point will be the state’s model at working in the new normal.

I cannot tell you what the future will bring. I can tell you that we will keep our focus on doing what Eagle Point does best. Taking care of our kids. Thank you again for your outstanding work. Again, enjoy the break and I will “see” you on March 30th.

Keep the faith,
~Andy

Continuity of Learning during the COVID-19 Closure

#EPSD9ConnectED

As we plan for the weeks that our schools will be closed following Governor Brown’s announcement, there are many opportunities for students to continue their learning at home.  We've provided some enrichment activities under Academics. There are no requirements from the district or teachers for students to complete any of these activities. We simply want to offer support to families during the extended spring break.

Once we develop our plan for continuity of learning during the April closure, we will communicate the plan. This webpage will be updated with services and support in the meantime.

During this unprecedented time of social distancing, we want to offer a space to share stories and support our learning community.

The hashtag
#EPSD9ConnectED is a way to engage and encourage each other via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We invite our families to share, as they are comfortable, ways they are promoting continuity of learning at home and managing the uncertainty of the closure.
